Harbour Court

Harbour Court Kopitiam is located at Jalan Chan Chin Ann.  It's located behind the KTS Building.. and in front of it is the harbour where the local fishermen parked their boats there.

It's my favourite place for having a nice bowl of Foochow Mee Sua.  The best thing about eating the Mee Sua here is the chicken drumstick is boneless.  Hey.. it's not easy eating drumstick with the bone using chopstick.. unless with the help of your hand.  But I guess it's very thoughtful of the tauke to take away the bone.

Just by looking at the picture u can tell it taste strong of red wine.
This place is definitely famous for it's mee sua.

This is the stew beef noodle.  I don't eat beef.. so I dunno how's the taste.
But hubby said it tasted so so only.

This is Zao Chai Bee Hoon Soup.  It doesn't taste that good to me as well.
Not enough taste of the Zao Chai, or they over washed the Zao Chai, so the taste is gone.

This is the Fried Zao Chai Bee Hoon.  Also doesn't taste good enough for me as well.
Same reason as the above.

The best one is still the Foochow Mee Sua.  Definitely worth you to come all the way here to try it.

Panther's Kitchen

Last Saturday nite, we went to Panther's Kitchen for dinner.... Not knowing where to go, I asked my fren Nicole, and she recommended this place.  I had actually known this place for some time.. but it just never came across my mind.  It's located at 3rd mile Golden Arch Mall. Only opens at night.  Previously it opened during the daytime as well selling BBQ Rice, and I heard that its BBQ Pork is absolutely good as well.  But I guess the business at night is too good so the boss decided to just do business at night.  Doing food business the whole day is damn tiring, cause most of the things, you need to prepare in advance..

When we arrived, the place is already full, we got our table as a family has left. As Nicole mentioned to me, their Curry Lamb, Midin, and Fried 3 layered Pork are delicious.. So we ordered all 3 of these.  But 2 of the dishes are with chillies, so we ordered another Sea Cucumber soup for my daughter.  OMG!! 4 dishes for 2 adults & 1 child.  Hmmm.. But obviously, everything is "clean & clear" after the dinner.

The first thing they serve is the curry lamb in claypot.  It's hot and spicy! Before they served the 2nd dish, my hubby already finished his plate of rice and he ordered a 2nd one! Haha.. My poor little girl had to eat her rice with soy sauce.. XD but she said very delicious... :(

Luckily the 2nd thing they served was the Fried 3 layered Pork.  At least my little girl had something to eat her rice with.  This is something similar to Nan Ru Fried 3 Layered Pork, but not with the strong taste of Nan Ru.  But this taste good when u eat it with the belachan sauce provided.

This is the cold Midin, or Ulam Midin, or maybe u can call it Midin Salad.  Served with their own made chilli sauce and with some type of Shell Clam.. Sorry I dunno what it's called.  Please do leave a comment if you have any idea what it is called.

Finally, the soup that I've been waiting for... or more specific, my daughter's been waiting for.  With additional of a little bit more rice.. she finished everything in her plate.  This soup taste good.  Normal ingredients, but the soup is good.

What a satisfied dinner.. Leaving the place with full stomach.. Yum Yum.. The total bill for the food is RM 44.. So I estimated, Curry Lamb RM15, Midin RM10, 3 Layered Pork RM8, Soup RM8 & Rice 3 x RM1.  Not expensive.  Considering the food can actually be served for at least 3 adults.  :)

And yes, we'll definitely go there again.  And the next thing we're gonna try are the fried lamb and curry fish head.

Bintawa Kueh Chap

Another Kuching delicacies is the Kueh Chap.. The kueh is something similar to kueh tiaw (or hor fun) but they're in bigger pieces... and served in the soup with the mixture of pork meats and it's intestines, stomach, ear, etc.. (or I like to use the word pig's spare parts! :) And of course, it comes with their special chilli as well.  As the way I eat it, I will put in all the chilli in the soup and finish it!!

This Bintawa Kueh Chap is located at Jalan Keranji, near Tabuan Jaya.  It was originally located at Bintawa, (as described by the name)  The place would normally packed with customers especially during dinner time.  You'll be lucky if you don't have to wait for your seats during the peak hours.

The Kueh Chap here is delicious.  They have a few options as well, whether you like your pork soup with the kueh, or with rice.  Kolo Mee is also available.  And they have wanton as well.  Unlike the common wanton clear soup that you can get from other kolo mee stall, the wanton here is served with their pork soup.

The Kueh Chap... available from RM 4, RM 5, RM6 (S, M, L)

The Kolo Mee here is not bad too...

Another option: rice with the pork soup..
(you can have it dry as well) something similar to pork leg rice..

Rojak Muhammad Kucei

The name of Rojak Kucei is extremely common in Kuching when talking about eating the Indian Rojak.  We used to go to eat this delicious Indian Rojak at their stall at the Batu Lintang Market.  They served their signature dish The Indian Rojak and their Curry Mee.  Just these 2 dishes already made the crowd came storming in their stall.  Sometimes you even have to wait for your seats.  You can see each of their workers do certain task.  The one chopping the chicken will stand there the whole morning chopping till the order stop! While the one frying, preparing the noodle, etc etc... will do their task non stop too... As I can see, the customers starts coming in since 9am-12noon... So you can imagine just how good is their business.  Even rushing and busy with their work, the waiters still serve you with a smile.. That's the great thing!

Kucei is the name of the owner.  He was the one who used to stand there chopping the meat for the dishes, but now, his eldest son had taken over the task.  As their business grows, his younger son opens another outlet at King Centre, and more variety of the Rojak itself is available.  They now served Nasi Beryani as well.  From Chicken to Curry Lamb and Curry Fish.. Their Fish Curry is definitely Yummy!  Especially the Stingray Curry, but it's not available everyday... So you gotta depends on your luck.

Their famous Rojak, with fried chicken, the tofu, mix vege fritters, bean sprouts, cucumber, and the gravy... Slurp!!

The curry noodle (using yellow noodles and served with the rojak ingredients and the curry gravy)

The Nasi Beryani with Fried Chicken... served with rojak as the side dish, and we ordered the extra Curry Lamb Shank.

The curry Lamb.. we definitely will order this everytime we go... unless it's not available. :p

This is the stingray curry... very delicious.. i like their fish curry gravy.. yum yum... It's not easy if u wanna eat this... You only get to eat this when they bought nice sting ray :)

The Mackerel Curry...

My conclusion, all of the above are yummylicious!!! Si beh ho jiak ar... Go try for yourself!!

Curry Chicken !!!

This gotta be my most favourite curry chicken.  You can eat this tasty curry chicken at Lee Cafe, Green Road, from the stall selling steam soup.  Curry Paste is also available for sell by the tauke nio.  A lot of people ordered her curry for parties too.  Have a try!!!
